What does an embodied translation look like, sound like, speak like, taste like? How does language permeate and take new form and new shape juxtaposed against time and space? This is Ahlan Club; a Dinner Theater. A moment suspended in time where poetry marks the menu and gestures towards a choreographed writing and culinary ritualistic performance. It is all an act of translation; it’s all a gesturing towards the speculative. 

Beyond spectacle, Ahlan Club departs from an understanding that food, food networks, and cultures are foundational vehicles for world-building, interconnectivity, and cultural continuity. We recognize food and cooking, tablescaping and eating, recipes and food traditions as inherent signifiers of human culture; as living archives. The kitchen is never merely a room, nor the table a static surface. A recipe is never just instructions, and a meal is never simply consumed. These are porous sites of encounter: kaleidoscopes through which we gather, inherit, remember, and imagine. They are lifelines of oral tradition, repositories of lived experience, and spaces where history is not preserved as residue, but continuously enacted in the present. It is from this understanding that we move. We collaborate in communion with others because we believe that together we can record more, translate more, imagine more, and build more than any one of us could alone. Every shared table expands the archive; every conversation offers another language through which to understand one another. We document our gatherings as an act of care and witness-a refusal to let shared moments disappear into ephemerality. Our archive exists not to fix culture in place, but to honor its movement, its multiplicity, and its becoming. Here, all narratives are welcome.
